Used this local park for first trip with grandchildren. Kid friendly. Large grassy play area with swings, slide. Pool is small by today's standards but well kept. We chose site in trees for extra shade. Quiet, clean, well managed CG. Will visit again. Lots of seasonal sites but a very nice crowd to mingle with. Some interior dirt roads need grading but with monsoon rains this year, it's to be expected.

Nice quiet non-commercial campground. Sites are a little tight but with care, not a problem. If you don't need a pool and want to kick back in a quiet natural setting, this is the place.

New concrete pads, nice friendly office staff, lots of open space for kids to play. Sites a little cramped for my taste but very nicely maintained. As others have said, roads are dirt and potentially dusty. Pool still closed this early in the season. About 12-15 minutes to Colonial Williamsburg. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean, quiet spot to spend the night. Store was well staffed for being so early in the season.

This park is a gem. Misture of open space and trees. Well maintained. Portion of entrance road is gravel but well graded. Immaculate facilities and pleasant staff. Nicely positioned at base of Cabot Trail. We will be back next year.

First KOA I've stayed in in 20 years. Beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. Grounds immaculate. Since this was the off season, CG staff spaced out campers nicely.

This campground is basically a flat parking area heavily covered with crushed stone and with "sites" marked out by spray painted lines. It's a stopping point on the way to other places. The park itself may have other features to recommend it, but the campground is not one that I would use for a long stay. OK for overnight.

A small gem of a CG in the middle of the City. Immaculate grounds and lots of neat features to keep smaller campers busy. Nice metal contraptions for fire places. Quiet and peaceful. We'll be back to this one anytime we are in the area.

The park is clean and neat as a pin. But it's tight! The small T shaped double sites were laid out when popups were the RV of choice for most. The current Class A's and 5th wheels barely fit in these sites. As I sit here typing this, there are 6 or 8 people carousing around a campfire about 15 feet away from my bed. That's too darn close. Great park, great people, close to many attractions but badly in need of redesign. Just my 2 cents.

The park was OK for a couple of nights while visiting the new Park Center. Tight spaces. Poor internal roads. Nice staff. Since we're not horse fanciers we weren't overly impressed with the overall facility.

This is the 4th year we have camped here. The CG is clean and easy to move around in. It's cash only at check in. It's a family oriented CG close to Bar Harbor. This year there were an unusual number of annoying little yappy dogs. The morning and evening serenade was a pain. Owners are not investing in anything new or any extensive maintenance. Sites need leveling, etc. While the rate is excellent, it might be time to test drive some other CG's in the area.

We spent 3 nights there last week. Our impressions; The CG is hard to reach being at the end of a long series of narrow roads. Definitely out of the way and definitely very quiet at night. The "seasonal portion" of the CG has crushed stone roads and is in a forested area. Tightly packed in together (about 12 to 15 feet apart). I wouldn't want one of the sites but there were about 60 - 70 seasonals with semi-permanent hookups so someone must like it. The "transient" portion of the CG is an open field with water and electric hookups. Looks like an old baseball field that had a trench run up the side to plant the water and electric lines. The field is lumpy and uneven. The fire ring on our site and on the ones bordering us had burned out bottles and cans in them that were not touched in the 3 days we were there. The picnic tables were falling apart - at a guess, they were being recycled from the seasonal side. When we checked in at the office, we asked for a map of the CG. They don't have one! There are no restrooms or shower facilities! (Their website claims a "bathhouse" but we never found it.) When we left and used the dump station we found the sump covered by a scrap piece of planking and with no running water for cleanup. Quite frankly disappointing because with some work and attention this could be a much better CG.
